As a counsellor, I believe that everyone has the potential to lead a fulfilling life. However life can be challenging, and we may experience difficulties that can impact our mental health and well-being. This is an incredibly normal way to feel. We live in a world that can feel too busy, too stressful and too full of expectation. That’s were counselling comes in.
I want to acknowledge how difficult it can be to seek help, but also how great it is that you are putting mental well-being as a priority. Sometimes the outside support from a trained Counsellor can be just what is needed to get through the struggle.
I want you to know that there is always hope, sometimes we can be stuck in patterns though that make this very difficult to see. I would love to support you in getting to a place where you can see change is possible and you can feel hopeful again.
Manaakitanga is a Māori word and way of being that sums up what is important to me in my practice, and that is the nurturing of relationships. You may feel nervous or unsure heading into Counselling, especially if you have never tried it before but I want you to feel as comfortable as possible and I work hard to do that.
Being able to show you genuine care and respect is very important to me as we share our journey together.
Being able to provide counselling in my local area of North Canterbury where I grew up is a privilege. I am located in Swannanoa which is only a short drive from Rangiora and Kaiapoi or twenty minutes from Christchurch. I am available for face to face or online sessions. Contact me here.
